Groups of MIT researchers tackle theoretical and experimental work on solid-state battery development

Although corporate R&D is beginning to focus more and more on solid-state battery development, academia still has a strong role to play. A leading university in this space, MIT, has a variety of research groups that have, over the years, worked on elements of solid-state battery development. This work sometimes has industry connections already: For example, one of MIT's groups that works on solid-state batteries collaborated with the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology on a recent study, as part of a broader effort between the two that looks at the development of materials for clean energy.
