Novel form factors open up new paths to market

August 01, 2018 | Case Study

A small number of startups, including General Nano and Nanocomp Technologies, have developed techniques to process CNTs into novel form factors like yarns, sheets, and tapes. These novel form factors typically require single-walled carbon nanotubes (as opposed to the more common, and cheaper, multiwalled nanotubes), raising costs, but offer light weight, high strength, electrical conductivity, and thermal conductivity in a form factor that is easy to integrate into composite products.
