Ansys' new 2019 production launch places a heavy focus on 3D printing simulation

February 5, 2019 | Case Study

Simulation is gaining an increasingly important role in 3D printing, especially when it comes to metal 3D printing. According to Lux's past conversation with Ansys' global industry director (please see this insight for more details), it can take months for manufacturers to become fully productive because of the complexity of 3D printing. Industrial metal 3D printers are also quite expensive, often costing more than $1 million. Design and 3D printing process simulation can be a key factor to reduce the manufacturing learning curve, accelerate productivity, reduce operational costs, and drive the rate of 3D printer adoption.
