Creating new applications: Glue dots replace packaging and Carlsberg reduces plastic

August 08, 2019 | Case Study

Carlsberg is targeting a 30% carbon footprint reduction by 2030 for its beer-in-hand products, and the company has pursued a variety of channels to do so, be it through changing label inks or developing a 100% bio-based bottle. Most notably, Carlsberg announced the launch of the Snap Pack in September 2018, where it replaced plastic rings with glue dots to keep its multipack beer cans together (technology developed by NMP Systems).
