Like many vendors in Industry 4.0, manufacturing data analytics platform provider Sight Machine has long priced its software based on the value it will create for the customer. However, CEO Jon Sobel explained to Lux Research that the company recently saw an opportunity to better align customer and vendor incentives with a new twist to its pricing model. Specifically, Sight Machine recognized that software buyers face career risk in adopting a new software tool and aimed to reduce that risk by introducing a pricing option that included a type of money-back guarantee.
