Food security and food sustainability are becoming exceedingly important in the food and agricultural sectors. With it, life cycle assessments (LCA) are turning critical for identifying risks and opportunities. However, today’s LCA approaches suffer from a number of shortcomings that prevent the implementation of food security and sustainability in strategic and tactical product decisions.
