Ben Torda is a Research Associate at Lux, and contributes to the energy team's coverage of direct and thermal power generation technologies. In this role, he focuses on innovation in areas such as advanced solar, wind, fuel cell, and geothermal power production.
Prior to joining Lux, Ben worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) in Germany, where he researched industrial-scale solar cell manufacturing processes in the Production Technology division. In addition, he co-authored academic publications on anti-reflection and passivation coatings.
Ben received a B.A. in Chemistry from Bowdoin College, where he researched copper-based catalysts for water electrolysis.
