Pandata improves data cleanliness on a deep-water drilling platform

July 12, 2018 | Case Study

A deep-water oil and gas drilling platform had connected a number of its major offshore assets, such as drilling tools, blowout preventers, and vessel positioning systems, with the intent of implementing a predictive maintenance (PdM) solution. However, the platform operator soon realized that the data from these assets was often riddled with errors, such as erroneous sensor readings, and had dedicated manual resources to identify and correct the "dirty" data being generated. This was costing the firm approximately $750,000 on an annual basis. In an effort to cut costs and improve data cleaning efficiency, the firm partnered with Pandata Technologies, a PdM vendor differentiated by its data cleaning abilities for the oil and gas industry.
