Thailand was able to reach 100% electrification in 2014 and is now in the phase of finding technologies that can deliver cheaper electricity and manage electricity within its grids, particularly as distributed energy resources proliferate. Its neighboring country, Singapore, has been testing microgrids to help with distributed energy in the region. As this distributed energy becomes more popular, software to manage it will need to follow. As discussed in our previous report, there are several different energy trading platforms to manage this power, including P2P and community energy. The Thai renewable energy provider BCPG recently partnered with Power Ledger, which offers energy trading software, to connect four different buildings in a community energy platform.
