How Novo Nordisk is digitizing diabetes management

Novo Nordisk, a global leader in the diabetes space, has made several major announcements indicating its intent to digitize its diabetes management products. It just announced two new connected insulin pens to be launched in early 2019. It also announced an exclusive partnership with Flex Digital Health to manage its data infrastructure for its connected devices and nonexclusive technology partnerships with Dexcom, Glooko, and Roche to allow interoperability of their apps with the new insulin pens. These developments are timely and address an important need as more and more healthcare payers like Anthem, Cigna, Denver Health and EmblemHealth in the U.S. are calling for comprehensive digital diabetes prevention and management platforms
