Roquette partners with Israeli startup Equinom to develop high-protein pea varieties

French ingredient company Roquette is a key player in the food ingredients space, with a special focus on plant-based ingredients. The company has stated that it views plant proteins as an important growth and sustainability pillar. In line with its vision, the company is investing globally to increase its manufacturing capacity and to bring new products to market for plant-based proteins. In September 2017, Roquette started constructing the world's largest pea protein facility. It recently acquired Netherlands-based extrusion technology developer Texpall's plant protein processing facility. Closely following this, the company announced a partnership with Israeli startup Equinom to develop high-protein pea varieties.
