Large railway system manufacturer uses NLP to make information accessible, thereby saving $60 million a year

July 09, 2019 | Case Study

A large undisclosed railway system manufacturer and service provider has 34,000 employees with operations at 105 locations in 60 countries as well as a supply chain that includes 40 tier one companies. These employees used hundreds of applications, such as OpenText Documentum, SAP, IBM Notes, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office, to generate documents and data. As a result, data was scattered across continents and systems, siloed and disconnected. This made it difficult for employees to access data like customer information, sales proposals, and location of parts throughout the organization, thereby leading to a significant amount of replicated work and productivity loss.
