nTopology and Stratasys develop generative design tool for 3D printing fixtures

While 3D printing is seeing rapidly rising use in production of end parts, historically and currently, much of the technology's value comes from supporting traditional manufacturing workflows through rapid prototyping as well as the production of jigs, fixtures, molds, and other tooling. However, making effective use of printed manufacturing aids often requires a level of skill with 3D printing that many companies and engineers lack. Generative design software developer nTopology announced that it had worked with 3D printer manufacturer Stratasys to develop a tool to automatically design certain kinds of 3D-printable fixtures quickly and without extensive training or expertise.
