Samsung partners with Herdsy to demonstrate the value of livestock monitoring technology

September 02, 2019 | Case Study

Cambridge-based startup Herdsy develops a livestock management platform that uses sensor-enabled tags to collect and track biomedical data of beef cattle to predict deadweight profitability. In June 2019, Herdsy announced a partnership with Samsung to develop its technology and scale globally. While we know from secondary sources that Samsung has sent Herdsy a medical device that may be integrated into Herdsy's platform, the role Samsung will play in technology development is unclear. Nonetheless, this collaboration aligns with Samsung's recent commitment to support the digital transformation of other industries and is the second time in the past three months that Samsung has invested in the livestock monitoring space.
