Microfulfillment center startup Takeoff partners with a warehouse automation company to improve e-grocery procurement efficiency

In April 2019, Takeoff, a software platform that manages microfulfillment centers across North America, partnered with Knapp, a warehouse automation provider that plans to open up 50 more of the micro fulfillment centers. These centers are expected to process up to $1.5 billion in grocery e-commerce sales per year, with Knapp planning to invest to the tune of $150 million in warehouse automation robots and other infrastructure. Both companies expect to have 13 microfulfillment centers active by the end of 2020 (they have not revealed the number of active centers as of now).
