Hitachi outlines the role of predictive maintenance in transitioning asset insurance from reactive to proactive for power plants

September 13, 2020 | Case Study

Hitachi offers a range of services and equipment, from insurance to digital solutions, for industries including energy, mobility, manufacturing, and smart buildings. The company has, however, seen a decline in its insurance business due to a variety of factors in the Japanese market and proposed that its insurance should move from reactive to proactive in order to attract customers. Proactive insurance is designed to lower the risk for the insurer via additional predictive services, enabling the insurer to undercut its pricing model.
