Wasteless partners with European food retailers to mitigate food waste

October 13, 2020 | Case Study

Retail food waste is a leading contributor to food loss and waste in developed countries. In light of this, there is a pressing need for retail players to take a multifaceted approach to reducing food waste, including increasing the shelf life stability of food products and managing their supply chains to improve margins. To this end, technology developers like Israeli startup Wasteless provide solutions to the retail sector targeting food waste reduction. Wasteless develops a digital inventory management system for tracking the shelf life of and dynamically repricing fresh produce, dairy, and meat in retail stores. Since its incorporation in 2017, it has partnered with several European food retailers to test its algorithms for dynamic pricing.
