With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic continuing to spread throughout many parts of the world, healthcare agencies are recommending hand-washing as a simple precaution that individuals can take to reduce the risk of getting or spreading the disease. However, while agencies like the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that individuals wash their hands for at least 20 seconds, studies have shown that the average hand-washing time (before the pandemic) is closer to six seconds.
