Chiyoda completes demonstration of first global supply chain for hydrogen

Chiyoda Corporation is a Japanese engineering company specializing in the energy sector and with global operations in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. As part of its operations in the energy trading sector, Chiyoda developed SPERA Hydrogen, a technology for the storage and transport of hydrogen in a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC). LOHC technology is seen as one of the leading options for the international transport of hydrogen over sea. In 2021, Chiyoda successfully showcased its technology by transporting hydrogen from Brunei to Japan in what is the world's first demonstration of a global hydrogen supply chain.
