Using virtual assistants to create value in digital health: Ada Health

Ada Health recently closed a $90 million Series B funding round, led by Bayer, to aid in its development of an AI-driven symptom assessment platform, which takes the form of a virtual assistant (VA). Ada Health's VA guides users through a series of questions about their medical history and symptoms in order to provide a list of the most probable conditions. The platform is also able to share results with healthcare institutions and inform the user about treatment options. VAs are becoming more common in digital health and wellness solutions, but they are by no means built the same. When determining the potential benefits of these types of tools, it is important to recognize how they are used to create value in the space.
