Aiding and empowering workers is at the core of augmented reality (AR) enterprise applications, with functions like remote assistance, collaboration, design, and immersive visualizations. However, growth has been only modest, with only sparse positive case studies. Many more attempts have failed to have much impact – and while COVID-19 restrictions spurred some further adoption, they were not to the level AR vendors would claim as successes. Nevertheless, these attempts have given businesses the opportunity to explore capabilities and applications of various flavors of enterprise AR.
