At CES 2022, Udelv unveiled the Transporter — its new cabless Level 4 autonomous electric delivery vehicle. The Transporter runs on the Mobileye drive system using a sensor suite comprising cameras, lidars, radars, and Mobileye's EyeQ chip. Udelv also intends to use Mobileye's crowd-sourced autonomous vehicle maps system, which it claims will allow quicker scalability. The Transporter comes with a modular cargo pod called the Upod, which can carry up to a 2,000-lb. load. When the pod is detached, the capacity of the Transporter goes up to 5,000 lbs. Its battery capacity is between 90 and 160 kWh, which translates to a range of 160 to 300 miles at a top speed of 70 mph. The vehicle can make up to 80 stops per run and comes with DC fast charging that Udelv claims will add 220 miles to the range in 45 minutes. The company provides a proprietary fleet management and route optimization system to operate Transporters.
