Germany approves Mercedes-Benz and Bosch Level 4 driverless parking system, but widespread deployment is still far off

Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority has approved the two companies' automated parking system for commercial use at an Apcoa parking garage at Stuttgart Airport. The parking garage is laced with Bosch infrastructure, which will work in conjunction with Mercedes' technology in the car to execute the necessary maneuvers. The Level 4 system will initially be available only for customers with the S-Class and EQS models with Mercedes' Intelligent Park Pilot 2 service.
