A handful of metamaterial companies – most notably Pivotal Commware – have begun to target mmWave applications. Most are focused on antennas, but what NTT and Metawave have developed is a reflector, which they used to bounce an mmWave signal around a tight city block. Clients should view this is a key milestone for metamaterial adoption in 5G.
