While Zymergen had previously disclosed electronic materials as a future target, it has not, to date, disclosed any major corporate partners for any project. Not only does Sumitomo Chemical represent Zymergen's first big announced partner, but it also provides expertise in consumer electronics to help Zymergen develop new molecules and materials with targeted properties for specific applications.
