Praj Industries has quickly established itself as the leading 2G ethanol technology provider in India over the past 12 months. The company is supplying its Enfinity technology to major Indian oil and gas companies Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat Petroleum under the strong policy and financial support from the Indian government. However, the company is also gaining traction outside of India, recently providing its technologies for a 1G corn ethanol faciltiy in Brazil. Being able to enter the U.S. 2G ethanol market is not only a vote of confidence in Praj's technology, but also allows it to carve out a niche market specific to sugarcane bagasse, though significantly smaller in quantity, as U.S. players continue to focus on corn stover.
