Sunfire acquired Swiss company IHT (Industrie Haute Technologie), a developer of high-pressure alkaline electrolysis technology, for an undisclosed amount – IHT has deployed 240 MW of its alkaline electrolysis technology worldwide since its inception in 2004. With this acquisition, Sunfire can now provide near-term and commercial-scale green hydrogen solutions to customers – its core product, a solid oxide electrolyzer, is still at pilot scale, with a capacity of less than 1 MW. As Sunfire continues to improve and scale its solid electrolyzer, it can now join the likes of ITM Power and compete for large-scale electrolyzer projects.
