Rising prices for agricultural inputs like water, fertilizers, and pesticides, combined with increasing demand for food from a growing global population, put pressure on agricultural production. Precision agriculture technologies ease this pressure by increasing the efficiency of agriculture, either by minimizing required inputs or by maximizing yields. Integrating these precision technologies into cohesive agricultural management platforms is the secret to success for this space. In this report, we evaluate the potential for cost savings and increased yields associated with adopting increasingly integrated precision agriculture systems. We also describe the opportunities for those looking to make a play in precision agriculture.
