The Dow-DuPont merger has enormous implications in every industry the companies touch. Not at all a “merger of equals”, the deal will expose enormously valuable DuPont divisions to new market forces, and is highly likely to create highly lucrative follow-on mergers in areas as diverse as industrial biochemistry and agriculture. Importantly, the M&A hidden gems will come from where technology and innovation capability and potential is strongest, but where traditional analysts will fail to appreciate this value.
