Between 2005 and 2016 Q2, venture capitalists have invested $5.6 billion in digital health and wellness startups. With $1.2 billion invested through Q2, 2016 is on track to break the previous record of $1.3 billion set in 2014. To understand the trends in digital health and wellness venture capital investment, we tracked the investments by category, years since start-up’s founding, and corporate venture capital (CVC) activity. While monitoring has received the most funding overall, attention is beginning to shift to new areas – namely analytics.
