Innovation in Animal Health and Nutrition

February 12, 2018 | State of the Market Report

This report addresses the current challenges facing the livestock industry and the opportunities for innovation, outlining how looking at current challenges and problems differently can help lead to innovative solutions. By defining a taxonomy that asks three questions, we provide a framework that can be used to assess animal health and wellness technologies and to guide strategy decisions. The analysis includes case studies of exemplary partnerships and collaborations that showcase strong strategies, including: (1) addressing new value drivers through partnership, (2) incorporating a partner's technology, and (3) using a partnership to bring benefits to a new demographic. The space is characterized by some very strong technology scores, but relatively weak partnership scores; clients should view these high-potential companies as good partners to drive innovation forward in the animal health and wellness market.
