Over the past few years China’s rise as a global innovation leader is quickly changing the landscape of innovation historically dominated by the West. China’s rapid rise has caught the attention of everyone, for better and worse, though several questions still remain on just how big of a threat or what types of opportunities present themselves to Western corporations. This session will discuss how China is disrupting the traditional innovation process and establishing itself as a formidable force in the global landscape. Through a series of case studies, we examine how China’s approach to innovation has completely disrupted or on the cusp of disrupting a wide range of technologies, industries, and having impact on global markets. In addition, we discuss the missed and current opportunities as well as ones just beyond the horizon. Lastly, it will discuss the strategic playbook to capitalize on China’s rise rather than taking it head on.
