AI: Preparing for the Unknown

9/11, Katrina, The Great Recession, August complex fire in California, Winter storm Uri in Houston, COVID-19 — unforeseen events such as these are occurring with increasing frequency and are having a significant impact on the world. And it appears as if there will be little respite, if any, from such events in the coming decades. In this talk, we will discuss how organizations can prepare for this unpredictable and risky future era. Using case studies, we will highlight how digital technologies such as AI (artificial intelligence) can play a critical role in adopting such de-risking strategies, where they continue to fall short, and what new risks such technologies pose.
