Electronic noses (e-noses) have been around for a number of years, with the technology's capability expanding due to recent innovation in sensors and artificial intelligence. The agrifood sector, which faces multiple challenges ranging from detecting food spoilage to finding new ingredients, can leverage e-noses to solve these issues. In this report, we analyzed the maturity of the different types of e-nose technologies currently available as they pertain to the agrifood sector. We further examined use-cases on different parts of the value chain across the different types of e-noses.
