Precision fermentation plays at the intersection of synthetic biology and sustainable food production. Over the past few years, this technology space has witnessed high venture capital momentum. Despite the massive funding momentum, the reality remains that precision fermentation-derived proteins are still a tiny fraction of the enormous protein industry.
