Lithium-Ion Batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are intercalation-based rechargeable batteries used in consumer electronics and electric vehicles and for short-duration energy storage.
LUX TAKE:
Li-ion batteries will continue to dominate the electric vehicle and renewable, short-duration energy storage market in the near future. However, innovations in anodes such as Si-anode and Li-metal will improve energy density, and new pack designs can help reduce costs. Solid-state batteries are on target to provide improved safety.
