Webinar: The New Carbon Economy: Evolution of Carbon Dioxide Emissions Reduction

November 10, 2015

Description

Globally, over 30 GT of carbon dioxide is emitted per year, led by power generation, transportation, and industrial processes. Over the years many efforts have been made to curb carbon dioxide emissions, predominantly addressing the power generation sector through renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and hydro. However, the transportation and industrial sectors continue to lag behind as the debate over indirect land use change (ILUC) and the delusion of carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) becoming an economically viable solution leaves unanswered questions on how carbon dioxide emissions can be successfully reduced in these respective sectors. This webinar will look at the past, present, and future of carbon dioxide emissions reduction by:
  • Analyzing the emergence of low-emission alternative fuels
  • Identifying early-stage, novel processes with potential long-term success
  • Presenting opportunities and strategies in carbon dioxide emissions reduction
